MJJ, give yourself some advice after just starting your fitness journey.
Watch no online videos of fancy moves, just do the basics. When I first started lifting weights, I spent hours watching videos and reading about different moves. It didn't help me much.If you can afford it, go to a personal trainer who will show you all the movements. If not, take your time. Which movement does your muscles feel best in? Do that one. Don't care if they're precise or not. You'll get the hang of them as soon as you start using them, regardless of how much you borrow or how hard you push yourself. Muscle recruitment is different for everyone, so don't try to copy others. I used to lift my back when doing rows or pull-ups, but it never felt good because my back was empty. The muscle doesn't recruit, there's no pump. Now, my back has gotten stronger and sometimes when I'm working on my biceps, I get that feeling of being full of air.
