Years of allergies finally cleared up
This has been an ongoing condition for me for seven years, with two flare-ups each spring and fall. In the past seven years I've taken medications like chlorpheniramine maleate, cetirizine, azithromycin, and moxifloxacin to manage my allergy and respiratory infections, as well as nasal corticosteroids, fluticasone, and other vasodilating agents. However, these treatments have proven ineffective over time, often worsening symptoms instead of improving them. Last year I had one of the most severe flares ever when both nostrils were completely blocked by congestion and coughing, so much that I went straight to my local clinic where they injected me with a drug to shrink my nasal septum (the bone structure between my nose and sinuses) and prescribed me antibiotics and antihistamines to help manage the inflammation and itching associated with the infection. This treatment was successful in managing the acute phase of the infection but not the chronic sinusitis or nasal congestion that persists even today. The last few days have seen improvement, though it's still not entirely resolved. My experience with Chinese medicine has been mixed; while I did discard the previous batch of herbal supplements because I didn't see any improvements after taking them, I'm now inclined to reconsider their effectiveness given how little progress I've made in recent months. I've also noticed some improvement since starting on the herbal remedies, which may be due to the fact that I haven't consumed anything else during this period. It seems likely that my body is slowly adapting to the herbal medicines' effects, and that they will eventually start working properly once the body has fully integrated them into its system. At least until then, I'll continue to take the herbs and hope for the best.
