I have an issue that I don't understand.
TG requires a phone number to register, and now it also adds email registration.
A lot of Chinese people say that TG is safe and respects privacy, blah, blah.
Even if you use an overseas phone number to register, your SMS still comes through the domestic base station, so how does privacy work?
Moreover, before TG even had a Chinese version, most of its advertisements were scams, viruses, phishing, and gambling. How secure is that?
A lot of messaging apps:
Threema, Element, Wire, SimpleX, Session, all point-to-point encryption, all over platforms, without needing a phone number to register, doesn't this protect privacy better than TG?
Jitsi, Rocket.Chat, even their code is open source, they give you a block number without even needing an email address.
Even if you use WhatsApp or Line, which are诟病已久,但是大陆警察难道还能跑到WhatsApp总部去调取数据?
我不明白为什么一堆中国人总是鼓吹这个东西。
Why do so many Chinese people always promote this thing? |
