The policy is much harsher than the previous two years.
Last month, I applied for an exchange in Shenyang Daima Mall with my new iPhone X and screen cracks and scratches on the battery, camera, and body. They said that they would replace it but refused to do so since I had paid for the replacement. Instead, they asked me to send it back to the factory for inspection. Two weeks later, when I returned the battery, the front lens was found to have a problem and was replaced. It was disappointing that I did not have to pay for this.
I applied for an exchange at the too-galery store in Chengdu last week, claiming that the front and rear lenses were fogged due to water ingress. I had used the phone to wash the faucet before taking a photo, resulting in fogging. Since it was waterproof, I didn't bother cleaning it, just washed it with the faucet's water. However, the water pressure was too strong, and the front lens failed to repair properly during the repair process. The shop staff denied the claim of waterproofing, but still agreed to apply for a new iPhone X with a service fee of 600 yuan.
I received it today after exchanging my old one for a new one from Apple, which cost me more than twice what I spent on the original purchase. The version number remains the same at 17.1.1, as expected, because all previous exchanges were done with the latest versions of iPhones.
It's enough now. I'll try to use it for another two years.
I'm happy with what I've got. |
