After moving my equipment home, I had to set up a new broadband connection, which took almost a week. This effort enabled me to meet some remote and web service needs. Here’s a summary that might offer useful insights.
In Brief:

Contacted the mobile broadband provider to inquire about discounts; in smaller cities, an 8-yuan number retention package can include free installation of a 200Mbps broadband.

After setting up the router to dial via the optical modem and disabling the firewall, the public IP became accessible. Avoid using UPnP for direct port forwarding and instead opt for periodic router restarts, coupled with a dynamic domain name and reverse proxy solution like lucky.

Broadband Selection
Despite the dominance of China Telecom in the south and China Unicom in the north, recent years have seen operators no longer providing public IPv4 addresses for residential broadband. Therefore, I opted for a mobile home package. Conveniently, I had a mobile card on an 8-yuan number retention plan, which I upgraded to a 129-yuan monthly plan. The technician mentioned a two-year discount, reducing the cost to 69 yuan per month, plus a 200-yuan fee for the optical modem and installation. The family package is quite beneficial, offering 500 minutes of calls and 30GB of general data, with the option to add family members’ mobile numbers as subcards at 10 yuan per month, totaling 89 yuan for three people each month.
Router Configuration
The technician configured the bridge mode during installation, allowing the router to directly dial for internet access, granting access to a public IPv6 address. My main router, a Xiaomi AX6000, was set up by enabling IPv6 in the backend, selecting Native, disabling the firewall, and activating UPnP.
Enabling IPv6
For testing, visit: https://ch.test-ipv6.com/ and http://test6.ustc.edu.cn/. Both the PC and NAS were initially without IPv6 enabled.
PC Setup

Enable IPv6 in the network adapter properties on your PC.

Press Win + R and enter ncpa.cpl to navigate to the Network Connections control panel.

Right-click the network adapter, select Properties, and check the IPv6 protocol box.

NAS Setup (Black DS)

By default, Synology NAS systems have IPv6 disabled. For DSM 7.2.1, follow these steps to enable it:

In the Control Panel, go to Network > Network Interface.

Select an existing interface (e.g., LAN1), then click Edit.

In the IPv6 tab, choose from the IPv6 Settings:
Automatic for automatic generation based on the LAN router’s announcements or Manual for custom settings including IPv6 address, prefix length, and default gateway.

DNS Configuration
The test results revealed that the operator’s DNS servers lacked IPv6 support. To resolve this, manually configure DNS on the router or device, using Aliyun’s public DNS:

For IPv4, specify DNS servers as 223.5.5.5 and 223.6.6.6.

For IPv6, specify DNS servers as 2400:3200::1 and 2400:3200:baba::1.
