In 2007, I got my first laptop when I went to university and learned how to install the computer system with my roommates. I was very excited and would reinstall it every few days. In the list of must-have software, there were anti-virus software. My roommates had ESET NOD32 installed on their computers, but I did too. However, after a while, I started feeling that the antivirus software slowed down the system, so I began trying to run it without any protection. At first, I was very worried about having backdoors or viruses in the software. But as my ability and awareness increased, I completely stopped worrying about it. It has been seventeen years since then, and my computer is still running without any protection. Now, when installing Windows 10, the first thing I do is delete Defender. |
