My wife and I have been married for seven years, with a child who is in primary school in Wuhan. Our salaries are separate and we don't expect her salary to support us. However, we do not expect it either. Since our marriage, all the expenses such as food, toiletries, paper towels, shampoo, toothpaste, water bills, electricity bills, internet bills, rent, etc., have been taken care of by me (I mean taking care of them financially and personally). My wife has always been an absentee landlord. She never shows any concern or interest whatsoever. This year, she forbade me from touching her, saying that I had stopped giving her money. In fact, this was due to my refusal to give her pocket money. The reason behind this is that I am not able to provide her with enough pocket money since I do not have any extra income. Also, I cannot afford to give her any pocket money considering the other expenses that I have to bear. Lastly, my mother came to take care of our child. She does not require any additional money for our child's needs and thus I decided to cut down on my spending and only pay for what is necessary. Now I have no choice but to ask her for pocket money which she refuses to give me. I feel very frustrated at this situation. |
